Equinor suspends production at its fields due to strike

Norwegian oil and gas company Equinor has suspended operations at the Gudrun, Gina Krog, Kvitebjorn, and Valemon fields in the North Sea, Angi reports.

There are 54 workers on strike.

The strike is triggered by a failure in wage negotiations between Norwegian Oil & Gas and the Lederne union.

Equinor noted that mining on the Johan Sverdrup platform, whose 43 workers went on strike on Wednesday, continues.

Norwegian Oil & Gas said that six fields in the North Sea operated by Equinor could be affected by union action. The total production from these fields is 330 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day.

Earlier it was reported that Equinor and British Petroleum would jointly develop offshore wind power in the United States.
