Naftan will further consider long-term refining of Norwegian oil

Oleksandr Demydov, General Director of the enterprise Naftan, said that the enterprise will study the possibility of long-term processing of Norwegian oil of the Johan Sverdrup after analyzing the work with the first batch purchased, NefteRynok reports.

“We took this grade for the first time, now we will work out all aspects, its processing at technological plants will begin, after that we will draw technological conclusions regarding further work”, Demydov said.

He said that now the task was set to supply alternative raw materials on a systematic basis. The OPP has a database of technical grades, which is now being optimized.

“We look at new drades that appear on the market, highlight among them the most optimal in terms of technological parameters and the economy. Based on this, we will determine a long-term program”, he said.

Russia and Belarus could not agree on the terms of oil supplies in 2020. On January 1, Russian companies cut off oil supplies to Belarus.

Earlier it was reported that Norway had supplied 80 thousand tons of Johan Sverdrup oil to Belarus. Alexander Lukashenko said that the country was negotiating with all participants in the global oil market, including the United States, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, about oil supplies at a world price.
