Qatar Petroleum acquires 30% stake in Total on the Mexican shelf

Qatar Petroleum has signed a contract with French Total to buy its 30% stake in blocks offshore Mexico. It is reported by Enkorr.

Each transaction is subject to approval by Mexican regulators and Total partners.

The head of Qatar Petroleum hopes for further cooperation with Total, other partners in these blocks and the government of Mexico.

Blocks are located in the Campeche basin, their total area is about 2.3 thousand square kilometers.

It was previously reported that Qatar Petroleum had launched a drilling campaign to expand production capacity of the world's largest natural gas field North Field East in the Persian Gulf.
