The number of oil and gas rigs in the USA fell to the level of 1944

According to Baker Hughes, the number of active oil and gas rigs in the US has dropped to a minimum since 1944, when the calculations began, Kommersant reports.

Last week, the number of rigs in the United States fell by 35 to 339. The number of existing oil rigs is 258, which is the lowest since July 2009.

Last year, there were 987 oil and gas rigs in the country, including 802 oil rigs.

A reduction in oil production in the United States was affected by the coronavirus pandemic. In addition, price wars between major suppliers of raw materials to the world market are affecting. In April, the price of WTI crude oil reached negative values.

Earlier it was reported that OPEC+ agreed on a record reduction in oil production.
