Venezuela plans to increase oil supplies to Cuba, despite US sanctions

Over the past two weeks, Cuba has been experiencing an acute shortage of fuel due to US sanctions, so the Venezuelan state-owned company PDVSA plans to increase its supply. It is reported by UNIAN with reference to the Reuters agency.

According to Reuters, at least two tankers left Venezuelan ports this week, nine more, under the direction of the PDVSA shipping unit, are in line for loading oil and fuel that will be send to Cuba. It is noted that the company intends to use most of its tankers to export fuel to the island. Due to the sanctions, PDVSA increased oil supplies to Cuba.

Within two weeks, serious disruptions in fuel supplies to the island have been observed, which seriously affects a number of sectors of its economy. At those gas stations in Havana where gas is available, are long lines.

It was previously reported that exports from Venezuela had fallen sharply after the imposition of US sanctions on the state-owned oil company Petroleo de Venezuela SA (PDVSA).
