Coal mining in Ukraine for the first half of the year

For the first half of the year, 15 345 thousand tons of coal were mined in Ukraine, while the planned indicator was 15 720 thousand tons. Thus, the plan of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Mining was implemented by 97.6%. It should be noted that mining volumes reduced by 7% compared to the same period last year. 

State enterprises mined 1 848 thousand tons (12% of the total), private ones – 13 497 thousand tons (88%).

Monthly dynamics of run-of-mine coal mining is as follows:

• January - 2 613 thousand tons (plan implementation – 94.9%);
• February - 2 487 thousand tons (99.1%);
• March - 2 663 thousand tons (104.9%);
• April - 2 439 thousand tons (98.9%);
• May - 2 603 thousand tons (96.1%);
• June — 2 533 thousand tons (92.3%).

According to the results of the first half of the year, the planned indicators of ash content have not been reached as well. The planned one was 43.6% and actual – 44.4%.

By regions the most productive was Lviv region, which mined 648 thousand tons (plan implementation was 105.7%), and the less productive – Volyn region – 27 thousand tons (38.7%).

But the most efficient according to actual volumes is still Dnipropetrovsk region, where DTEK Pavlohradvuhillya mined 9 416 thousand tons of run-of-mine coal (plan implementation – 97.7%).
