Donbassenergo refutes Ukrenergo’s statement about coal shortage and rolling blackouts

Oleh Larionov, the Commercial Director of PJSC Donbasenergo, stated that thermal generation does not have a coal shortage in warehouses, so there will be no rolling blackouts. He commented on the situation in connection with the statement of SOE Ukrenergo about the possible risk of capacities shortage at coal-fired power plants.

“We have no coal shortage. We have about 186 thousand tons in stock. Therefore, everything is fine with coal, and supplies are continuing”, Oleh Larionov commented on the situation.

Recall that Ukrenergo announced the possibility of an emergency situation in the power grid of Ukraine. The power grid of Ukraine works with absent normative reserves of capacity at power units of thermal power plants of generating companies. Now, there are 7 TPP units with a total installed capacity of 2857 MW are out of reserve due to the lack of coal, Ukrenergo said.
