Herus: Russia stops deliveries of thermal coal to Ukraine
Andrii Herus, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Energy, Housing and Utilities, said that from November 1, Russia would stop deliveries of thermal coal to Ukraine. He wrote about this on his Telegram channel.
“We are talking about A and P coal grade. Such coal was imported by DTEK (Luhanska TPP, Kryvorizhska TPP), Donbasenergo (Slavyanska TPP) and Tekhnova (Darnytska TPP, Sumy TPP, Chernihiv TPP),” he said.
Herus also said, referring to market participants, that the ban applies specifically to coal used for energy needs, and does not apply to coking coal.
“Such actions of the Russian Federation are similar to its actions in the fall of 2014,” he stressed.
To recap, the Ministry of Energy reported how much coal is to be imported in November.
Earlier, Shmyhal confirmed problems with coal.
