The Ministry of Energy transferred part of the wage arrears to the miners

PJSC Centrenergo transferred UAH 370 million to the coal industry enterprises.

This was announced by the Minister of Energy Herman Halushchenko at a meeting with representatives of the trade union of workers of the coal industry of Ukraine.

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that more than UAH 700 million would be allocated to pay off debts to miners of state-owned coal mining enterprises.

“Auctions were held between Ukrenergo and Centrenergo. Centrenergo received the corresponding funds yesterday evening. And today, the first UAH 370 million has already been allocated to coal mining enterprises. We expect the enterprises to receive the remaining funds from Centrenergo during this week. These funds should be used to pay salaries to miners,” the minister stressed.

Halushchenko also appealed to the representatives of the trade unions with a request to check on the ground that the transferred funds would be used by the management of the enterprises to pay salaries, and not change their purpose.

To recap, the Office of the President elaborated the expectations on the volume of coal imports by the end of the year.
