The Ministry of Energy suspects that coal was stolen from the state enterprise Lvivuhillia

The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine has initiated an inventory of coal residues in the warehouses of the mines of the State Enterprise Lvivuhillya, the press service reports.

So, at the request of the ministry, the head of the state-owned enterprise organized an instrumental survey of emergency coal warehouses of separate warehouses – mines during September 6-7, 2021 (conducting surveying measurements of coal residues in order to establish the actual volume of coal that is in these warehouses).

As a result of the audit, it was revealed that the total balance of the shortage of coal at the enterprise is 17,585 tons.

The Ministry of Energy applied to the National Police with a statement about the possible commission of a criminal offence on the fact of theft of state property.

“This is the first such test in preparation for the heating season. We turned to law enforcement agencies to identify and prosecute those responsible. We will make every effort to control and ensure the efficient operation of sectoral state-owned enterprises and prevent abuse,” Deputy Energy Minister Oleksii Kurakov said.

As a reminder, last week DTEK received the first shipment of coal from Kazakhstan.
