The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office reported suspicion to the Minister of Energy

The NABU detectives reported suspicion to the Minister of Energy and Coal Mining of Ukraine on the fact of making false declarations to a person authorized to perform state or local government functions for 2015-2018. It is reported by the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office.

“The investigation found that in 2014 the suspect received a loan of $1.249 million from an individual. However, in violation of the requirements of the Law of Ukraine “On Prevention of Corruption”, the official did not display the information in the annual declarations”, the statement said.

The actions of a high-ranking official qualified on the grounds of a crime stipulated in art. 366-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of a fine of two thousand five hundred to three thousand tax-free minimum incomes of citizens or public works for a term from one hundred fifty to two hundred forty hours, or imprisonment for up to two years, with the deprivation of the right to occupy certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years.
