A rockfall occurred at Zolotoe mine

The chairman of the Independent Trade Union of Miners of Ukraine, Mykhailo Volynets, said a rockfall occurred at night at Zolotoye mine, which is part of the Pervomayskvuhillya State Enterprise, rescue and search operations to find one miner are continuing, Ukrainska Pravda reports.

“At night at 0:13 there was a collapse of the rock mass on the 687 m horizon of Zolotoe mine of the Pervomayskvuhillya enterprise,” he wrote on his Facebook page.

During the rockfall, there were two workers in the mine. The soldiers of the mine rescue service managed to quickly free the miner - Oleksandr Vasylchuk.

Search operations are ongoing to save the life of another miner.

Earlier it was reported that the Parliament created a commission to investigate the reasons for the unprofitableness of the coal industry.
