State miners have been underpaid billions of hryvnias
Ukrainian miners have been underpaid UAH 2.3 billion in wages. Debt has been accumulating since 2014-2015, the Head of the Independent Trade Union of Miners of Ukraine Mykhailo Volynets said during a round table: "Labor rights protection: results of the year and prospects for 2022," Ukrinform reports.
“The wage arrears at the state-owned mines have reached UAH 2 billion 340 million. As of January 1, next year, this debt will reach more than UAH 2.5 billion. Salaries have not been paid since 2014-15,” Volynets said.
He also mentioned that miners in Chervonograd (Lviv region) refused to work as a protest.
Earlier Zelenskyi said there would be no power outages and enough coal.
