Ukrenergo: Coal stocks are extremely low

NPC Ukrenergo informs that the situation with the accumulation of coal continues to improve at the TPP warehouses. However, stocks in warehouses are extremely low.

TPP production last week increased by 8% to 609.5 million kWh. The reason for this is a decrease in the production of other types of generation (renewables by 23.5%, CHPs by 4%, NPPs by 0.1%) and an increase in consumption (+ = 0.6%).

The share of TPPs in covering the load last week increased to 24%.

As of September 20, at the request of producers, there were 3 power units and 1 building of TPP and CHP with a capacity of 0.75 GW in emergency repairs. In addition, due to lack of fuel, 15 power units of TPPs and CHPs with a capacity of 6 GW cannot operate.

On the morning of September 20, there were 852.6 thousand tons of coal in the TPP's warehouses, which is 15.5% more than on the morning of September 1 (738.3 thousand tons). In particular, gas coal stocks increased by 28.1% to 639.2 thousand tons, while the volumes of anthracite coal, on the contrary, decreased by 10.9% to 213.4 thousand tons.

Over the past 10 days, the average daily supply of coal amounted to 54.4 thousand tons, while consumption – 49.4 thousand tons.

Besides, in accordance with the fuel accumulation schedule approved by the Ministry of Energy, there is 2.5 times less coal in the TPP warehouses than it should be on September 20.

To recap, DTEK has agreed on an additional supply of coal from the United States.

As reported, a working group on coal accumulation was created under the Ministry of Energy.
