Volynvuhillia illegally mined coal worth millions of hryvnias

The State Environmental Inspectorate reports that the Volynvuhillia SE inflicted UAH 430 million in damage to the state due to illegal coal mining. This was discovered during a planned inspection.

The State Environmental Inspection noted that the Buzhanskaya Mine illegally mined more than 50 thousand tons of coal.

It was found that the validity period of the permit for the use of subsoil, issued for the mine, ended in 2018. The enterprise has been carrying out illegal mining for 3 years without paying mandatory payments for the use of subsoil to the state budget.

“Now the Volynvuhillia State Enterprise has exactly one month to voluntarily compensate for the damage caused to the state. In case of non-payment, the inspectorate will take all the necessary response measures to enforce the collection of funds,” the message says.

To recap, the SSU exposed the head of one of the mines of Volynvuhillia on the financing of the so-called LPR.
