Electricity generation by renewables in February 2019
In February 2019 Ukrainian renewables generated 251 122 MWh of electricity. 49% (124 143 MWh) of overall renewable structure was produced by wind farms, 31% (78 025 MWH) – SPPs, 11% (27 245 MWh) – HPPs, 5% – biogas objects, 3% – biomass objects. In total, alternative electricity in the wholesale market structure was 2.03%.
The average selling price of “green” electricity in the wholesale market according to February results was 4457.81 UAH/MWh. Among them:
- the price for wind farms was 3481.86 UAH/MWh,
- 6291.82 UAH/MWh for SPPs,
- 3910.05 UAH/MWh for HPPs,
- 3938.22 UAH/MWh for electricity producers from biomass.
It should be noted that the draft law No.8449-d on changing the support system of renewable energy from “green tariff” to auctions was approved by the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada and sent for consideration to the Verkhovna Rada.
According to this edition of the draft law, “green tariff” for SPPs will reduce by 25%, for wind farms – by 10% since January 1, 2020.
