Biden returns to Paris climate accord

US President-elect Joe returns to the Paris Climate accord hours after becoming president, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

The paper will be submitted to the UN, and in 30 days, the United States will officially become a member of the agreement.

In 2017, Donald Trump first announced his decision to leave the Paris Climate Agreement. In 2019, Washington officially notified the UN of the exit procedure beginning. The U.S. decision became effective on Wednesday, November 4, 2020.

Donald Trump explained the decision by the fact that the agreement imposes a financial and economic burden on the country.
