DTEK opened Orlovska wind farm with a capacity of 100 MW

DTEK and Danish company Vestas completed the construction of the Orlovska wind farm in Zaporizhzhia region with a capacity of 100 MW. Kosatka.Media attended the opening of the wind farm.

Orlovska wind farm is the third project of the company in wind energy. The station is located on the Azov coast in Zaporizhzhia region.

The wind farm consists of 26 Vestas wind turbines with a capacity of 3.8 MW each. The cost of the green project amounted to €131 million. Since October, all wind turbines have been generating “green” electricity to the IPS.

Every year, Orlovska wind farm will produce about 380 million kWh of electricity. This amount of electricity is enough to provide 190 thousand households and reduce CO2 emissions by 400 thousand tons per year.

During 2019, DTEK Renewables launched green energy projects with a total capacity of 740 MW: Nikopol TPP, Pokrovska SPP, Prymorska wind farm, Orlovskaya wind farm.

“We are confident that Ukraine is able to become the leader of decarbonization in Europe, providing our country with its own, clean energy. And we urge all interested parties to unite around this idea”, said Maksym Tymchenko, DTEK CEO.

Earlier it was reported that DTEK launched Prymorska wind farm with a capacity of 200 MW and Pokrovska wind farm with a capacity of 240 MW.
