Naftogaz launched a solar station in Kharkiv region

Naftogaz Group launched Andreevka Solar Power Plant (SPP) in the Balakleysky district of Kharkiv region, the press service reports.

It is noted that the Andreevka SPP is a pilot project of the New Energy division, whose task is to analyze the technical and regulatory mechanisms for the development of renewable energy for the Group. The station's capacity is 0.999 MW.

Equipment and installation services were procured through competitive bidding in Prozorro system. Most of the components used in the construction process of the station are Ukrainian. The station has FIT since July 2020.

“Renewable energy is one of the priorities of the Naftogaz Group. This approach is consistent with global trends in energy development. Naftogaz Group companies have already used solar panels as an additional source of electricity in office buildings. This taught us how to work with renewable energy projects and allowed us to successfully commercialize Andreevka. The regulator’s constructive decision to grant us licenses for the production of electricity is a new page in the success story of our company,”said project manager Serhii Ovcharenko.

The group also plans to complete the construction of a significantly more powerful solar power station in Zhytomyr region in September this year, as well as expand the grid of electric charging stations in the capital.

Recall that in April, Naftogaz installed the first electric charging station as part of the WeEnergy pilot project.
