It is too early to stop supporting renewable energy in Ukraine – ASEU

Considering that only 4% of electricity is currently produced from renewable energy sources in Ukraine, and this figure does not exceed 9% during the year, we can confidently say that it is very early to stop state support for renewable energy sources. Ukraine has not achieved the set results.

This was announced during the first Ukrainian solar EPC forum by the chairman of the Association of Solar Energy of Ukraine Artem Semenishyn, Kosatka.Media reports.

He noted that the forecast balance, published by the Ministry of Energy, shows that in 2021 the share of renewable energy sources during the year will be 9%, and this is very low.

“According to our obligations, we must have more than 10% of renewable energy sources in electricity production,” he recalled.

Semenishyn also drew attention to the fact that instead of the "green-coal" paradox, we now have the "coal-nuclear paradox," when a decrease in the share of generation by nuclear power plants leads to an increase in the share of TPPs and CHPs.
