Shmyhal instructed the Ministry of Energy to find mechanisms for resolving the situation with renewable energy sources

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that the Cabinet of Ministers would give additional instructions to the Ministry of Energy to develop mechanisms for solving problematic issues of renewable energy development in Ukraine and the implementation of a memorandum with investors in renewable energy sources, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

“We will make more instructions, we will hold appropriate meetings. We are already paying a lot of attention to this issue,”  Shmyhal told, answering a question from MP Oleksii Honcharenko (European solidarity faction) about the prospects for fulfilling the government’s obligations to renewable energy sources, in particular, to pay for renewable electricity.

At the same time, the Prime Minister recalled that the Energy Ministry had previously been instructed to develop mechanisms for resolving the situation.

He also stressed that the development of renewable energy was considered at all meetings of the government with Ukraine's international partners.

To recap, Guaranteed Buyer paid more than UAH 18 billion for green electricity in the first quarter of 2021.

As reported, Ukraine is discussing the formation of a fund for "green" transformation with international partners.
