Notre-Dame de Paris can be energy efficient after restoration

Parisian architecture company Vincent Callebaut Architectures presented a new roof project for the Notre-Dame de Paris, which was destroyed in a fire.  

According to the architects, panels for collecting solar energy will be installed in the roof.  This idea will provide energy to the cathedral, as well as nearby houses.

The architects note that the design using glass panels in the form of diamonds will allow storing solar energy in the hydrogen compartments.

The glass parts of the ceiling will allow more light inside the cathedral.  It has already caused media comments that indicate that the light can make the historical stained glass windows of the cathedral less visible.
