SPP for 20 million euros from the EBRD will be built in Chyhyryn

Skatek Solar ASA, which is part of Scatec Solar, will receive a loan of €19.7 million from the EBRD for the construction of a solar power plant in Chyhyryn (Cherkasy region).

In addition, the Swedish Fund will allocate a loan of €10 million, and the Nordic Environment Finance Corporation – €5 million.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development finances Ukrainian projects on alternative energy in the framework of the USELF III program approved in July 2018, totaling 250 million euros.

“It is expected that the new SPP will be commissioned in 2020, it will provide a reduction in CO2 emissions of more than 36.000 tons per year. This is the fourth project of Scatec Solar in Ukraine. From previous projects, the EBRD also supported the construction of a SPP with a capacity of 47 MW in Mykolaiv and a SPP of 30 MW in Kamenka”, the report says.

Earlier it was reported that Scatec Solar is starting construction of a solar power plant in Progresivka (Mykolaiv region), its capacity will be 148 MW. Construction finance from Power China covers 65% of the project’s capital expenditures.
