SPP with a capacity of 7 MW is being built in Dnipropetrovsk region

A 7 MW solar power plant is being built near Shesternya village of, located 75 km from Kryvoyi Rih.

SPP will consist of almost 22 thousand photovoltaic modules and will occupy 21 hectares.

“A site with high solar activity was chosen for the installation of the SPP”, said Yuriy Zasyadvovk, the Director of Ecotechnik Shyroke, who initiated the project. “The generated electricity is enough to meet the energy needs of 7000 households”.

The project is being implemented with the support of Ukrainian and French investors.

According to the Head of the Shyrokovsky village council, Olexander Kokul, the SPP will provide additional revenues to the village budget and new jobs. “To service a solar power plant, between 15 and 20 workers are needed: operators, electricians and security guards”, he says. “Local residents are already asking about employment at the station.”

Now contractors are installing poles to install photovoltaic modules, to which electrical cables will soon be connected. Then the territory on which the SPP is being built is planned to be fenced off.

It was reported earlier that in the Kirovohrad region 46 SPPs are planned to be put into operation in the next three years. The electricity produced by the SPPs will replace 17 million cubic meters of natural gas or 600 rail cars of coal.
