DTEK VDE launched the largest in Ukraine Nikipolska solar power plant (Dnipropetrovsk region, Nikopolsky district) with a capacity 200 MW. The station was opened on April 19, 2019.
ЄToday is a special day not only for DTEK, but for the whole of Ukraine. This is a big step towards energy independence and the future of our energy sector. Today we solemnly open the largest SPP in Ukraine ... DTEK looks in the future of both our company and the energy sector, and the state as a whole", said DTEK CEO Maxym Timchenko.
The output of "green" electricity began on March 1. As of April 19, SPP produced 45 million kWh. According to the press service, Nikopolska SPP is one of the three largest SPPs in Europe.
A total of 750 hectares of solar panels manufactured by the Chinese company Seraphim Solar System and Trina Solar are installed on the plant with an area of 400 hectares. In addition, the station has installed inverters produced by the Chinese company Shenzhen Kstar Science and Technology. It is noted that due to SPP it will be possible to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 300 thousand tons per year.
Construction of the Nikopolska SPP began in October 2018. Total investment was €230 million. The Chinese company, China Machinery Engineering Corporation, has been a partner of the Ukrainian company in the process of construction.
